Create Note

Create a note on a contact, company, deal, ticket, or custom object timeline.

The "Create Note" workflow action in HubSpot is a versatile feature enabling users to add detailed notes to the timeline of various records such as contacts, companies, deals, tickets, or custom objects. One of the powerful aspects of this action is the ability to include dynamic content from previous workflow actions.

Functionality

  • Automatic note creation: The action automatically generates a note based on predefined criteria and adds it to the chosen record's timeline.
  • Custom content: Customize the content of the note, including text and hyperlinks to external resources.
  • Adding action output to note: After executing an action like "Generate with ChatGPT", select its output as the property to be included in the note. This way, the generated content — such as a tailored email draft — is automatically saved as a note in the relevant record's timeline.

How to use

  1. Edit action: In the workflow, select the "Create Note" action to begin setting up the note.
  2. Note body: Define the content of the note. You can include plain text, tokens (dynamic values based on the record's properties), and HTML for linking to external resources.
  3. Property or action output: (Optional) Select a record property or a previous action's output to be included in the note if necessary.
